Will Vista DVD boot from a 'SATA' DVD-RW on a clean install?
The beta version of Vista installed the right SATA driver, but I was installing from an 'IDE' DVD-RW then. The concern is will the SATA DVD-RW drive function before installing the SATA driver Will Vista DVD boot from a 'SATA' DVD-RW on a clean install? Or, do I have to install a driver first from a bootable floppy?

I have the LOTR boot on DVD, directly from the "original source" in Malaysia. They were sold for $10 each, and included color silkscreened disks and So nobody should be be paying much for VHS dubs from the same DVD. Certainly not the $20 most bootleggers charge. And frankly, the DVD boot looks pretty damn good.

If you set the XP drive as the boot drive and then boot the system with the Vista dvd you will get variation of the drive lettering (no real problem) and will have the boot menu after you install Vista on the second drive or partition. You may only have to create one registry key in order to protect the Vista

If i explore the dvd from macos xI can view all folders correctly. But when i restart the computer and hold C key, a small square appear in screen center with a alternating symbol of finder and a "?". You can't boot an upgrade disk, and get it to install(thus, that error). You have to have vista running, and then put the DVD in the drive. But, it gives you an error. When I boot on it it says that I must upgrade from my existing version - not great as it is corrupted and will not allow it!
